Update on Maverick's ears.

Most of you know that Maverick has been struggling with chronic ear infections for almost a year now. We took him to an ENT specialist in January and had tubes put in his ears thinking that this would solve the problem. However, he has continued to have ear infections even after the tubes. The tubes have helped tremendously because the infection drains out his ear and he doesn't have the pain and discomfort that he had before the tubes, but the infections just won't stop. His pediatrician keeps telling us that he's just one of those kids who is going to get infections and he'll eventually grow out of it. Well, he now has his 5th ear infection since the tubes and this one started just two weeks after finishing antibiotics for the last ear infection. So, needless to say...We're a little fed up. We called the ENT specialist ourselves and they got us right in yesterday afternoon. Halleluiah! I think we're finally going to get some help! We're so excited that there are some other options besides struggling through ear infections every4 to 6 weeks. They suctioned the infection out of Maverick's ears which wasn't very pleasant, but we're so glad it's out of his ears. They put him on what must be a solid gold ear drop for as much as it costs! But hey, it's worth it. The Dr thinks that all of these infections may be caused by some type of allergy. The first allergy they test for is a milk allergy. So, the Dr put him on a non dairy diet for 5 days. On the 6th day we're supposed to feed him as much dairy as we can get him to eat and on the 7th day we go back to the Dr to see what he thinks.

Obviously we'd hate for him to be allergic to milk, but we're super excited that someone is going to help us get these infections stopped.

The good thing is that Maverick feels fine. He's still all boy...Playing and running like a wild man. In fact, I am behind on posting pictures and video of his recent escapades! I will try and get caught up tonight.
