Gauge is finally Home! We have a couple of visitors as well!

Saturday, May 03, 2008

May3rd. We brought Gauge home tonight around 8:30.

2:30 in the morning May 4th. We took Gauge back to the hospital. He was unconsolable. Screaming, sweating and had vomited.

We spent another five days in the hospital. We found out he was born with a urinary tract infection. He was on antiobiotics for about a month until we could get him in for a VCUG. This is where they inject die into his bladder and watch what happens, checking the fuctioning of his kidneys and his bladder. Luckily, he just has stage 1 Hydronephrosis and Stage 1 Kidney Reflux. This of course he inherited from his Mom! Anyway, he'll see a pediatric urologist until he is 5 and if we don't have any other problems, then they won't worry about it after that point!

We're so very lucky. Here's a pic of the Gauger in the hospital. We have a few more, but they all just look so sad, so I didn't want to post them. This was a pretty rough 5 days!

Gauge Gregory Guinn

May 2, 2008

1:23pm, Wesley Birthing Center

7lbs. 13 ounces, 19.5" long

The meaning of his name:

Gauge - The "Gauge" wines are not for aristocrats. These wines are for drinking. These wines are for celebrating. These wines are made to entice all of your senses. The makers of Gauge have a strong nose for adventure and are considered to be all around rabble-rousers.

The matching initial of the first name and the middle name is a Guinn family tradition. All three matching initials have only happened one other time in our family's history...my Papa Greg.

Gregory is a Guinn family name.
