Choices

So the last few mornings Maverick has been wearing us out. He doesn't want to have his diaper changed, he doesn't want to get dressed, put his shoes on etc. Everything has been a battle for the last 3 or 4 mornings. So, this morning we decided to give him choices. We do this with his food all of the time, but never thought about doing it with clothes. Do you want to wear the red shirt or the green shirt? He picked the red one and let us put it right on. Do you want the pull-up diaper or the regular diaper? (This one took awhile and a little bit of whining, but finally he made a decision). Do you want your lace up shoes or your velcro shoes? This went on and on this morning, but it worked! We'll see if it still works tomorrow morning!
Woo hoo Maverick, you did so well this morning!

Maverick, Thank you so much for teaching me sign language. I was at Target yesterday evening and a very nice hearing impaired employee assisted me. I wrote down what I was looking for on her note pad and she walked me right to it. I was able to sign "thank you" to her because you showed me how! Aunt Tammy
