Update on Maverick's ears.

Most of you know that Maverick has been struggling with chronic ear infections for almost a year now. We took him to an ENT specialist in January and had tubes put in his ears thinking that this would solve the problem. However, he has continued to have ear infections even after the tubes. The tubes have helped tremendously because the infection drains out his ear and he doesn't have the pain and discomfort that he had before the tubes, but the infections just won't stop. His pediatrician keeps telling us that he's just one of those kids who is going to get infections and he'll eventually grow out of it. Well, he now has his 5th ear infection since the tubes and this one started just two weeks after finishing antibiotics for the last ear infection. So, needless to say...We're a little fed up. We called the ENT specialist ourselves and they got us right in yesterday afternoon. Halleluiah! I think we're finally going to get some help! We're so excited that there are some other options besides struggling through ear infections every4 to 6 weeks. They suctioned the infection out of Maverick's ears which wasn't very pleasant, but we're so glad it's out of his ears. They put him on what must be a solid gold ear drop for as much as it costs! But hey, it's worth it. The Dr thinks that all of these infections may be caused by some type of allergy. The first allergy they test for is a milk allergy. So, the Dr put him on a non dairy diet for 5 days. On the 6th day we're supposed to feed him as much dairy as we can get him to eat and on the 7th day we go back to the Dr to see what he thinks.

Obviously we'd hate for him to be allergic to milk, but we're super excited that someone is going to help us get these infections stopped.

The good thing is that Maverick feels fine. He's still all boy...Playing and running like a wild man. In fact, I am behind on posting pictures and video of his recent escapades! I will try and get caught up tonight.

Sticker Mania

Our Friday night.
We played outside. Maverick and Bryce went over to play with Foxy (the neighbor's dog). Maverick likes to sit over there and play until Cara gets home and lets both Maverick and Foxy come in the house. They have a little boy named Brady and Maverick loves to go inside and play with Brady's toys!

We chased the Geese into the pond and then I chased Maverick around the yard.

Then it was time for bath, tooth brushing and bed. Maverick of course does all of the above while being stylish and cool at the same time.

2/3 of us are rested and recuperated....

Maverick went to bed at 7:30 last night and slept until 7:30 this morning. I think he was super worn out. He woke up a totally new kid this morning. He must have run from one end of the house to the other about 20 times this morning, squealing and laughing the whole time. He did run straight into the bedroom door once, but recovered quickly with only a bit of crying and then he was off making laps around the house again. I also went to bed early and slept late this morning, barely getting Maverick to school and myself to work on time...but we made it and I feel so much better today. However, the other 1/3 of our family went to a Double Crossed Hipsters concert last night and he's a bit tired this morning! He had a great time, so it's worth being tired! I'm guessing there might be a nap in his future....

We're all a bit tired today....

It's just been on of those weeks. From the Double Crossed Hipsters concert to The Wiggles concert we're all just a little bit worn out. Maverick has developed a bit of a cough and had a coughing episode about 2:00 this morning and we couldn't get him back to sleep until about 5:30 this morning. Not much else to post today. I think we'll all be ready to hit the sack early tonight!

Lights...Camera....Action... Wiggles!!

The Wiggles came to Wichita yesterday and we were there to see them! We had a great time and Mav danced and grooved through the whole concert. We even took Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Kevan along! It took Maverick a couple of songs to really figure out what was going on. He kept looking at the big screens instead of at the stage. He couldn't figure out that they were really there and not just on tv like at home! Once he figured it out he was a dancing fool! I have posted lots of pictures and video below. You'll want to turn your speakers up loud so that you can really hear the audio on the videos.

Boy, all of this dancing really makes me thirsty! (Video)

Mama gets a night out.....
and boy did I feel it this morning. I just don't recover like I used to anymore.

Grandpa Greg offered to keep Mav for the night so that we could go to Mort's and hear Kevan's band. We put on our official Double Crossed Hipsters T-shirts and headed out for the night. We were just going to stay for a couple of hours and head home early. Next thing I new it was 2:00 am and we were just getting home!

Big Daddy and his cigar.

The night ended with Bryce pushing Mav's Big Red Car through old town. I had video, but it was just too dark to see much. Long story short, we had a great time.
Don't worry.....

I'm a little behind on blogging, but promise to get caught up soon. Many exciting posts to come about our weekend, the Double Crossed Hipsters (mama got a night out on the town) and yes....the much anticipated Wiggles concert!

We stole Grandpa Greg's '56 and went cruising. Mav continued cruising in the garage for quite awhile.

Then the neighbors starting coming over. This is Carter G, Mav's 3rd cousin. He lives just down the block. He's only 3 1/2, but he's a very good driver and very good with Mav.

Mav drives while Carter pushes the gas pedal.

Mav riding Brock's motorcycle

Brock and Carter in Olivia's jeep....as you can probably tell there were plenty of kids and cars in our driveway!

One dog, 3 dads, 3 moms, 5 kids and 4 battery powered vehicles! Fun was had by all! (except maybe the dog)

A little video of the kids driving around.

Moonwalks, fire trucks, police cars and more!

Yesterday our neighborhood had an awareness party/ice cream social/a reason to get together and have a few drinks. We're really enjoying this neighborhood. When we first moved in we were the 2nd house and now there are about 15 houses. We seem to have a great group of neighbors who are around our same age which is nice. We all have young kids and we just have a great time when we get together. In fact, the party was over at 8:30 but it continued on our deck until about midnight!

Maverick had a great time. He was so worn out by 8:30 that he actually asked to go to bed!

The Scooby Doo Moonwalk!

One of the neighbor boys (who is actually Mav's 3rd cousin) had a John Deere Gator. Bryce and I are thinking we're going to need one of these. Mav absolutely loved it!

And then the firetruck came around the corner.....
I have never seen Maverick so excited.

Our local Police Officer came by for a visit

She even gave Mav an official badge. Funny, when they pull me over I never get a special sticker.

Maverick - 19 month photo shoot
