Ashley's Birthday!

Today was Ashley's birthday party and it was so nice of her to invite us! There were about 20 of us at P.F. Chang's and we had a great time.

I think he's pretty smitten with Ashley. Watch out Uncle Kevan, he's got moves.

Mav's impromtu birthday party.

Maverick was in the pantry messing around and next thing I know he comes out with birthday hats. So, we decided to have a little birthday. I mean really, the poor kid's birthday is 3 days after Christmas, so what does a mid-summer pretend birthday really hurt.

We made brownies




















I know, raw eggs, salmonella, blah, blah, blah, it's just so much fun to lick the bowl.











































































The we washed the dishes while the brownies were baking.




















Then, it was time for candles. We used every candle in our posession.

Today Maverick told me that he made stinky noise. (He tooted!)

Food

Many of you know that Mav is a very picky eater. Well, we're pretty excited because in the last few days he has eaten a hamburger, a taco with salsa, he tried pork tenderloin (didn't like it, but at least he tried it) and he and I ate green beans from the can!

The Farm

Maverick spent this weekend with Cinda and Steve. He has been so excited to go to the farm. Cinda called on Wednesday and Mav got on the phone and said "Cinda, I come to your house?" Thank goodness that was why she was calling or else he would have been awfully disappointed. He asked us every day from Wednesday to Saturday if it was time to go to Cinda's house. Well, finally Saturday came and he couldn't get out of here fast enough. He packed up his new John Deere blankets and pillow (new from Grandma and Grandpa Lankton) and off her went waving and smiling from ear to ear.

They played at the park, drove a tractor, ran around a corn field, kicked dirt clods, etc, etc, etc all of those fun things that you do on the farm. I think he managed to keep them up quite late. Cinda told me that she and Mav were laying on the floor trying to settle down about 11:00 when Steve finally decided to go to bed. Steve said "Goodnight Cinda, I love you" and Mav said "Night Teve, Lub you". I think finally around midnight Mav and Cinda went to bed.

Justin came over to play with Mav in the morning and then they headed to church. I think Mav had a wonderful time and he's already been asking to go back.

As for Bryce and I, we had a great time as well. We went to Red Rock and had drinks at the bar and followed that up with a Fabulous dinner. It was a nice adult, romantic night out.

Brady's 2nd Birthday Party!

Brady's party was today and he had a giant water slide! It was so cool. It had working cannons, a big turtle to jump on, and a giant slide! The kids loved it.

I picked the first of my Roma Tomatoes today!















Nadine and Jerry brought us a bunch of tomatoes. There's put mine to shame!
